The design depicts the Soldier standing with head bowed in reverence observing the Tomb which has been inscribed with “An unknown Australian soldier killed in the war of 1914 – 1918.” These moving words have been created in an inlay of valuable rhodium for enduring brilliance. Other tributes include along the traditional exhortations “Lest We Forget” and “We Will Remember”. The design also features three memorial poppies rendered in red enamel and four pillars, each inspired by the four basic elements that symbolise every aspect of creation. It is truly a fitting memorial to those who gave all, for us all. As long as we hold the Anzac spirit close to our hearts, this husband, son or brother will never be forgotten.
